2008 U.I.M. 1 Litre World Champion to defend Crown

Y-1 Fast Eddie Too, home port of Farmington Hills, Mi.
owned by Jim Sechler and driven by Dan Kanfoush will be
in Morgan City for the 2009 Atchafalaya World Inboard Power Boat
Championship Oct. 17 &18 on Lake Palourde.
Fast Eddie Too holds 4 world speed records, as well as numerous
Divisional, National, and Canadian Championship titles.
Sechler and company have attended every Morgan City race since
Winning their first title race at the 2005 Eastern Divisional race.
The 2009 Atchafalaya World Inboard Power Boat Championship is an
American Power Boat Assn sanctioned event is sponsored in part by the
Morgan City Power Boat Assn., the Louisiana Office of tourism, and Cajun Coast
Visitor & Convention Bureau.

LEGACY T 18 Another 1.5 Liter Stock on their way to South Louisiana.  The T-18 will be driving in from Raleigh North Carolina with this 2004 B & L Hydro hull, owner and driver Fred Benzinger, Boat named “Legacy” – runs a Toyota 4AC engine.  Just another Hydroplane Racer looking for that #1 Title at the 2009 Atchafalaya UIM World Inboard Powerboat Championship next week end on October 17 & 18^th at Lake Palourde, Morgan City.  Pre ticket sales are available at various locations in Morgan City, stop by M C Bank’s Colonial Plaza Branch, St. Mary Chamber of Commerce’s Morgan City Office, American Supply or Sportsman’s Cycle & Marine.  Sponsorships are being accepted to assist with this prestigious world event by contacting David DiVillier at 985/759-1345 or Frances Dupre 985/518-8175 or 384-2100.  This event is sanctioned by American Power Boat Association, brought to you by Morgan City Powerboat Association, co-sponsored by LA Office of Tourism, Cajun Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau, & St. Mary Parish Government.

Morgan City Power Boat Association’s official race shirts are available now at several locals in Morgan City.  Pictured l-r checking out the shirts at their regular planning meeting are Bruce Broussard, MCPBA Treasurer; Ellen Broussard, Assistant P.R. Chair; Oren Dupre, Commodore; & Ray LaHoste, Vice Commodore.

Shirts, hats and koozies will be sold at the October 17 – 18^th UIM Atchafalaya Inboard Powerboat World Championship.  Race program to begin at approximately 9:00 AM both days.  Advance tickets are now available for $8 per person/per day with children 12 and under admitted free with an adult or guardian till 4:00 on the 16^th, race day tickets will be $10.  MCPBA would like to acknowledge their co-sponsors LA Office of Tourism, Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Center, City of Morgan City and St. Mary Parish Government.  Questions please call Frances 384-2100 or Bruce 384-3000.
